20 September 2013 - Sui-to Poteto (スウィートポテト) |
Using satsuma imo without cinnamon. Mom said, "It's very soft, so grandparents (with no teeth) can eat them..." =p
(Ps. It's 1st time shot using the handed down camera..:D)
The recipe is from Kyoto Foodie
Quote: "This Japanese dessert confection is called Sui-to Poteto (スウィートポテト) in Japanese. That’s the Japanese pronunciation of sweet potato, as you probably guessed. Preparation is simple; steam the sweet potato and mash with butter, sugar, eggs, milk and cinnamon and bake. They are hand formed into delicate balls."
Sui-to Poteto
2 sweet potatoes (about 500 grams total)
6 Tbsp sugar
30 g butter
3 Tbsp milk
2 egg yolk (one for potato mixture one for glaze)
1 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
sesame seeds
Note: Chakin Shibori style - the sweet potato is twist and squeeze in damped muslin cloth.
