The recipe is based on Ice Cream Nation's  and was made without ice-cream machine using David Lebovitz's method

Sicilian Gelato-style Green Tea Ice Cream
 
700 ml whole milk
125 ml sugar
3-4 Tbsp of corn starch
pinch of salt
1 vanilla bean (split lengthwise)
(plus matcha powder)
