The recipe is from Smitten Kitchen
Double Chocolate Cake
makes 2 10-inch layers filled, coated in chocolate ganache.
For cake layers:
85 g semi-sweet chocolate
355 ml hot brewed coffee
600 g sugar
315 g all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp baking powder
1 1/4 tsp table salt
3 large eggs
175 ml vegetable oil
355 ml well-shaken buttermilk
3/4 tsp vanilla
For ganache frosting and filling (If you want to just use it for frosting, halve the recipe)
455 g fine-quality semisweet chocolate
235 ml heavy cream
2 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp light corn syrup
55 g unsalted butter
